IMF seminar

On November 11, 2024, representatives of the International Monetary Fund Regional Center for the Caucasus, Central Asia and Mongolia, Gerhard Steger, Galina Braverman, Imran Aziz and Ivana Vablonskava, who were on a working visit to our country to hold meetings and training seminars on “Providing Technical Assistance on Public Finance Statistics and Public Sector Debt Statistics”, held a training seminar for the faculty and students of the Turkmen State Institute of Finance.

This training session of the International Monetary Fund representatives was devoted to issues related to government finance statistics and public sector debt statistics. The topic of the seminar, being relevant today for the world community, aroused great interest among the faculty and students. In his speech, the guest noted that in recent years, the bilateral mutually beneficial relations established between Turkmenistan and the International Monetary Fund over the years of work under the leadership of the Esteemed President of Turkmenistan Arkadagly Hero Serdar have flourished, Turkmenistan has put forward positive initiatives to develop mutually beneficial relations with the International Monetary Fund, as well as important activities implemented in the country in this direction.

During the seminar, representatives of the International Monetary Fund presented specific examples of foreign experience in the field of government financial statistics and public sector debt statistics. Representatives of the International Monetary Fund confidently emphasized that Turkmenistan's fundamental work to achieve sustainable development goals finds full support from the world community. At the end of the seminar, the participants expressed their boundless gratitude to the Arkadag National Leader of the Turkmen people and Arkadagly Hero Serdar for the broad opportunities created and wished them good health, longevity, and success in their great goals aimed at a bright future.
