Ruslan Djumayev, Senior Lecturer of the Turkmen State Institute of Finance, was on a working visit to New Delhi (India) from 4 to 15 February 2025 to participate in a specialized training seminar on the World Trade Organization and international trade at the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) program of the Republic of India. More than 20 delegates from 15 countries took part in a specialized training seminar on issues arising in the activities of the World Trade Organization and international trade at the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade. The specialized training conference was attended by professors from specialized research institutes, prominent diplomats who has worked for many years in the Indian trade sector and in the World Trade Organization, representatives of the New Delhi office of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) and other scholars. At specialized trainings, they discuss about the history of the World Trade Organization, the significance of its creation, multilateral documents within the organization, the rights of member states of the organizations, opportunities for developing countries, the role of international trade in achieving sustainable development goals, trends in international trade in services and India's experience in this area. The training also included presentations by participants, as well as a speech by R. Jumayev on the domestic and foreign policy pursued in our country under the wise leadership of our Arkadagly Hero Serdar and the efforts of our Hero Arkadag, in particular, on the initiative of Turkmenistan, declared by the United Nations (UN) 2025 as the "Year of International Peace and Trust", on the country's economic development and international cooperation.
It was also emphasized that Turkmen Neutrality makes a worthy contribution to the development of international economic cooperation in the region and around the world. Following the results of the specialized training seminar on issues arising in the activities of the World Trade Organization and international trade, at the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade within the framework of the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) program of the Republic of India, its participants were awarded international certificates and thanked the relevant governments for the opportunity to participate.
